Want to Sell 2005 ford f-550 4x4

I am selling m 2005 Ford f-550. 4 wheel drive, auto, 84” cab to axle. 182k miles. Runs good. I bought this truck a few years ago as a stateside dump truck. I put on an aluminum chipper canopy and ram it for a few years. Unfortunately California won’t let us run the older trucks anymore. So I removed the dump system and put it on a new truck. This one served us well. Has a lot of power. It developed a battery draw before I removed the body. But i never addressed it because we weren’t using it anymore. But only seemed to be a problem if it sat for long periods of time. It is a great truck. It has a few scratches and dents as it is almost 20 years old. What engine is in it? Also what do you mean by California will not let you run an older truck. How in the hell can they tell you that...........

Nice 6.0. I wonder if they put the larger Turbo on with the replacement engine or kept the 05 one.

I think the 04/05 6.0L had a main crank recall, this would probably be the reason for the replacement.

Might be but that is a standard sticker. I have a 2005 with a 6.8

Does yours have a 4" exhaust? My 07 F350 6.0L has the same exhaust.

I love a good 6.0. They get a bad rap, but once you know them and fix their little quirks...it may be one of the best diesels around. You can actually work on it without breaking brittle plastic connectors everywhere.

The biggest things with those...change your coolant. Often.

Very happy to hear that. I am surprised it took as long as it did the way the used market is now.

Yeah it actually sold about a month ago. It’s tough to sell these trucks in Cali. They have really made it difficult here. But I’m glad somebody got it that can use it.

The 6.0 fords have egr cooler issues, most delete it and if your in a state like california it will cost you thousands to get a real cooler installed to meet emissions..6.0 also suffered head gasket failures hand over fist if the egr cooler was not addressed early on.
