Anyone ever have issues with the control sticks on their machine The sensors on the handles are not making ground and keep shutting my wheel off, I'm using a wet (water saturated) glove to make it work but even doing that is getting to the point of not working. Vermeer tells me the controls are wore out and I need to update all three and reprogram the machine to the new ones about $850 total for them to do it was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem ? doesn't seem right on a 6 yr old machine, Thanks for any info on this!

I am a little hesitant to answer this cause I could be talking out my azz but I had the same problem out my 372. These handles operate on extremely low current and voltages, so even the slightest resistance in the form of oil from your hand, tree sap, dirt, sweat etc can combine to make a layer on the handles that will render them inoperative. This is assuming we have the same set up. I had one handle out of three that worked, so it had to be held at all times. Pita. What I did, and never under ANY circumstances should you EVER think to try this, was to take some 120 sand paper and gently go over the entire handle. Followed by some brake cleaner. They all work great now. Use this as a last resort before you go to the stealer.

Cool , Thanks 74inchshovel, It started out I'm sure it was the forward and reverse lever that wouldn't keep the light on, so I had to use a wet glove on my left hand and it worked fine now about 50 hrs later its taking a wet glove on both hands to keep the wheel going. getting worried its going to quit completely on me I'm glad you answered
I will never try this for safety sake. P.S.I will let you no soon if it worked!!!! Thanks again!! LOL!
