What number or designation or whatever you call it does Carlton give to their chain that is similar to the Oregon 20LP? I need a .050, .325 pitch chain like the 20LP but my closest dealer sells Carlton. Just want to be sure I get a chain comparable to the 20LP. Thanks.

20LP vs Carlton

According to the saw chain conversion chart you would need to use K1L-BL.
I believe that the 20LP is not ANSI approved but the K1L-BL is.
In the Carlton numbering system K stands for .325, 1 stands for .050 gauge, L stands for chisel and BL stands for bumper drive link.

LP does not have a full bumper drive link, it just has the partial bumper, thats why its not ANSI approved. Make sure the chain you recieve has a square cutter and not a round one. A chain with a full bumper will not cut as fast as LP. Take your chain into the dealer and they should have something equivelant, or you can order chain online at several vendors.

For Oregon chain 34LG and 21LP are very good chains
