Husqvarna is pretty good, I like Stihl too.
My preffered saw in the field is a 241cm or a top handle Echo 280T.
At the sawbuck/horse or milling I like a 70cc saw.
Echo is a very good saw and one of the best top handles, I have two 2511s, a 350T and a 362T (in the USA 355T). In general they work well. I am happy with them. Stihl had the ms 200 saw, now the 201 a little decaf but very good. Husqvarna in the field of superior handles is neither this nor is it expected. 😄

I have a MS200T Farmertec build project but they (MS201T) are really expensive around here, more than I can afford.

Hello, I would like to know your opinion, how would a 22-inch Tsumura bar work on a Stihl ms 400C? Will you handle it with ease in hard wood like olive? The 18-bar handles it with great ease in this type of wood. I don't know if the oiler is enough in 22. Thanks.

hello, that's right. The old olive trees leave in the center of the hollow trunk. The center is the nest of rats and small mammals that drag sand, stones...
The sharpening is constant.
I use stihl RS, (full chisel) now i am switching to stihl RM (semi chisel).

I mainly use Stihl ms 241 CM, Hq 550 XP and 562 XP, now the ms 400C. I have noticed that Husqvarna saws do not like hard woods, much less work at 35 degrees Celsius, in dirty, dry or dusty woods they do not have filtering capacity, at least it is happening to me. I have always been a Husqvarna guy, I like its ergonomics, speed and also its sound. But unfortunately in this type of wood they do not work for me. My favorite saw is the 562 XP, but I use it less and less. I understand that stihl machines are better suited to this type of wood. It's just my personal way of looking at it. Greetings.

Sorry had to run you through Google translate.
I can't remember when, but they recently cam out with an upgraded filter and filter housing. I think it was for the 2020 or 2021 models. There is a kit you can buy to upgrade the factory filters.
Having said this, aside from a very few new and updated stihl models, the first modification most make is to get a different (aftermarket) air filter set up for their stihls. Stihl has long been known for poor air filtration.
The ms400c has taken the air injection tech from husqvarna and added a reasonably decent airfilter. I'm not 100% sold on it as they claim the filter needs a special cleaner to clean it properly. I'll likely look to the aftermarket for alternative filters when the time comes.

Most Stihl air filters you can hose them inside out with non chlorinated brake cleaner.
The new hd2 filters like the 400 comes with are a polyethylene material with much smaller pores then the old style of filter. Besides brake cleaner breaking down the media, it would be insufficient to clean the small pores in the filter media. It's a strong alkaline cleaner (as opposed to acidic) with a ph value of 12. From what I understand it breaks down the saw dust and oils to help open the pores of the media. This really wasn't an issue with the old flocked and paper elements.

Confused.... as I was told that I can keep using it on the newer filters from a trusted Still Tech. The data sheet of the CRC non Chlorinated Spray can Brake Cleaner that I use shows no info for PH as with most cans with a Google search. I have not seen special cleaners you have mentioned to clean the new filters or Stilh might be marketing them heavy for sales. Point me to some. Some might just use liquid dish soap and water and dry it out. Cheers, Patrick

I wonderd about k&n filter cleaner, not sure about the pressure washer used on the filter.
I think the filter on 372s does stay cleaner longer than stihl 044 460s but even with dirty Chip coverd filters both color saws keep cutting well.
The white filter is a good idea can see if dirt and stuff gets inside the filter the outside is pretty easy to tell theyre dirty.

Hello friends, that's right, I already know about the filter update, I would very much like to change my old models for new models since not only the air filter has been changed but also other parts and details that improve the behavior of these Husqvarna. But I don't know how to explain this to my wife🤣. As for the HD2 filter, I like it, it's easy to wash. It mounts on both the 241c and 400. I have only seen the difference in color. At ms 241 it is black, at ms 400 white. Do you know if there is a difference in the number of meshes or microns? or is it just the color? In any case, white is easier to check and wash since you can better identify dirt. To clean these types of filters, I first blow them with compressed air slot by slot from the outside in, then repeat the process from the inside out. Once blown, I spray it with a special K&N brand filter cleaner, let it sit for a few seconds and rinse it with pressure water. Finally, I blew again with compressed air, finishing from the inside out. Before I put the filter in the machine, I make sure it's dry and put silicone grease on the gasket. This silicone grease prevents the entry of dust and the gasket itself deforms or degrades. About the K&N filter cleaner, I think it's an ammonia based product because of the smell, just like the Stihl cleaner.

I believe the change from black to white was also with fuel filter orange with finer filtration. White is easier to see that it needs cleaning. Maybe Stihl sells more replacement white filters now as dirt shows up more. Homeowners don't bother cleaning and just want a bright white filter.

I would caution you from using compressed air from outside to inside to compact fines further into the filter element. I use very low pressure at a angle to help remove dirt from outside of filter. Details in the language translation you might do the same. From inside out I also use low pressure that is enough to not change the shape of the mesh with the force of lots of pressure.

"...and rinse it with pressure water." I think water pressure from the sink tap is enough as too much is not necessary.

Good idea on the silicone grease, I use it on the 500i filter base.

@Especialista Said:

I appreciate your advice, really the pressurized water that I use is from the sink. Silicone grease protects the plastic gaskets, prevents them from hardening and aging, and also forms a small film on the filter base gasket that traps the smallest dust particles. This works great.

Thanks, All good!

The olive tree that was shown has a huge base full of surprises that can damage a chain. You sure have work do do to remove those.

Going from RS to RM Stihl chain will get you more cuts but you will still need to sharpen the RM chain in that wood often also. I was going to suggest for the 400cm if you went longer bar to try a skip chain. You can find it it premade loops in RSF but not in RMF. I had to buy a 100 foot length and make my own for shorter bars. Cheers.

Salud.

Why ask? Go buy the set-up and try it, and if it doesn't answer your question......send it back. OR, come on this forum and look for a guy to admit he did that........its a chainsaw, not a guitar.
