i am new to green teeth i have the new low pro pockets i tried a set of the greens(700) with the nut grinded a maple and poplar stump my standard 1/2 inch cutters would have done much better would the reds have cut better i do like the quick change teeth

You have give us a bit more to go on ! Lo pro pockets- I thought they were the "tap and turn " type but you make referance to nut type ? what machine do you have, horsepower etc ? The deep dish reds are in my opion the best although some poplars tend to shred rather than chip off and would test the best of teeth and machine ?

reds or greens

my machine is a 25 hp i have the new tap and turn pockets when the dealer give me the teeth me gave me the 700's with the nut i was told you can use the nut or the tap and turn teeth

Reds have a deeper dish and therefore have a more aggresive bite.

I had the regular greenteeth on my Rayco 1625 (27 hp) and on a pine stump could throw 10-12" long ribbons of wood off the stump.

Reds. Although, I use the 1100 series (1 1/8" dia) on my 25hp vermeer machine and they work fine. When they start to lose their edge, I put them on my larger tow behind. I believe the 500 or 700 series is recommended for 25hp machines. I tried the 500s on a rayco 1625 and thought they were way too slow and produced way too small of a chip. Cleanup of small chips takes much longer than it does with big chips. I personally like a bigger cutting edge and wouldn't go with anything smaller than a 700 series.

I have the vermeer 252

I have tried both the red and green tap and turn teeth. I like the green better because the edge isn't as pointy sharp and doesn't appear to dull out as fast in rocky soil.

I should mention that I grind in relatively rock-free soil so the red teeth work well for me.
