Hello all I recently acquired a 266xp in pieces in an old box . It had cooked the top end but the bottom end still seemed fine so for 100$ I took it home with a still new in the box aftermarket top end. After a few hours of cleaning and assembly I had it back together with its new top end which unfortunately is an open port cylinder . Now I still need to break it in but early results aren’t overly impressive and the saw is very easily out cut by one of my old p41’s running the same bar length . Now I’ve started cleaning up the old cylinder and believe it may be salvageable with a bit more work just a touch of transfer left and two short scratches by the exhaust port now a few questions has anyone here used the highway 50 mm pop up piston from wolf creek or the whole highway top end from them with good results. I may try my hand at porting the oem cylinder because of the damage and wear in it are there much gains to be made ? Or best to leave it alone if you don’t really know what your doing lol
