Whant to replace the fuel line on my MS290. Got the grommet loose in the tank wall and can see the line disappear behind the carb. Before I do something really dumb- is it as simple as just removing the carb and plugging in the new line? Any thing troublesome in removing the carb?

The one I worked on I found it simpler to take off the trigger cover and disconnect the throttle linkage from the trigger before trying to pull out the carb. Once the carb is off it is pretty simple to get the fuel line in. One tip make sure the carb housing is clean of any foreign debris like chips and dirt, you want nothing falling into the tank or worse the piston head with the carb removed. Have fun.

On the 290 you don'tneed to take the cover off to disconnect the linkage.. Just advance the throttle and pop the linkage out of the slot in the top of the trigger.

Put some lubricant on the hose grommet, and make sure the flat edge of the top of the grommet lines up with the left side of the tank. Pull gently DOWN from the inside with forceps while pushing from the top.
