I called Bailey's today looking for bars that don't exist and found that they do... kinda..

The lady behind the phone said that she thought you could run full sized 3/8 chain on a 3/8 Lo Pro bar, but there was some drawback that she couldn't remember. What is the drawback?

On a slightly different, but connected topic, what do you think about running 3/8 chain on a muffler modded 346xp with a 14" bar? (ducks for cover)

Haywire; the drive tangs are different size, shape and the regular may not be well supported by the low pro sprocket nose but have not personally tried that combination. Here is a link to a thread on regular 3/8 vs Low Pro.http://arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=39384&highlight=low+profile+3/8
if you want a dozen threads where it has been hashed do a search on " low profile, 3/8

A muffler modded 346 will handle regular 3/8 chain but would be smoother and probably even faster with .325 Stihl RS. Now if you go to square filed/ground and modified chain the 3/8 is clearly the way to go because .325 is much more difficult to make a square ground competition chain from.
