I am looking for about a 30" used large mount husky bar with or without chain. Condition as far as paint not important at all. Just needs to be usable, I am going to be using it on my newly rebuilt 288. I am looking for anything longer then 24" that it will pull comfortably the saw is not ported, but is MM. I have 7 and 8 pin 3/8 sprockets I don't know if it has the beans to pull 404 at length I am unfirmular with capabilitys of this saw but it seems that everyone runs 36"ish??? Let me know if I'm wrong

Thanks Adam

If I'm not mistaken you can buy/make a spacer and use a Stihl bar. I have a 36" b/c in the tradin post if your interested.

It can pull a 30" bar no problem with a 3/8" 8 pin sprocket if it is running right. With 404 I would probably stick to a 7 pin. Better off running 3/8" anyway. It will cut faster in most wood, and the chain is less expensive to buy.

My ported 288 runs a 36" bar with 3/8" 8 pin sprocket, and I have yet to find a piece of wood that will bog it down.

Your 288 is impressive. Thanks for letting me run it!

I have a 36" .404, .063 bar, Husky mount......$50 or thereabouts, plus shipping. I have no chain to spare.

Also have a couple 30", .375, .050 gauge One is new, branded Dolmar.... How about $65..... or $45 for a used Oregon bar, looks to be straight, and only worn a bit--bar rails that is....

Add $22 for a chain...full skip full chisel....
