Saw a guy I know cutting with a brand new stihl yesterday. Never saw the number myself, but my wife swears it was a 341. seemed to be a decent saw. Did she get the number right?

That is possible, the MS341 is a "detuned" 361, and sold in large parts of the world, including Canada - but not in the US, and not here in Norway.
It should be able to compare favorably with the 359/2159.

Can't tell you those saws, but I can tell you the standard "promotional sale price" in the flyers on an MS 170 with all the toys is 279. Exchange rate is less now than it has been for a long time, but the prices haven't changed yet to reflect it. Canadian dollar in better than 85 cents US, up from about 60 cents a couple of years ago.
