What would a brand new Husqvarna 288XP Lite be worth? Serial # is 64001XX, omitted the last two numbers to avoid someone saying I stole it from them. My dad had a habit of buying things and shelving them, forgetting he bought them, or where he put them. After he died, I found this saw cleaning out his garage on the bottom shelf in the back and it has never had gas in it and still has the little pamphlet hanging off of it.

That's a lovely saw, and I would feel guilty using it on a regular basis for cutting oak trees at our family farm. I really think there are guys who love these saws in their original condition and it does seem like this saw is worth considerably more than $500. I suggest checking ebay sold items for 288xp and consider pricing it accordingly or selling it on ebay.

The bore won't rust. It's the rings, but more likely the beari is I would worry about.
I think I will pop the case and look around. Can't hurt to throw a little oil on the bearings. Then fuel it and fire it up. It's way too big for any wood I would be cutting, besides I have a Husqvarna 240 that I've used for years
