I picked up a 42mm 346XP OE in really nice physical condition other than sometime in its earlier life it was straight gassed.
Obviously the piston is toast and I'm still cleaning out the aluminum deposits in the cylinder to see if it can be salvaged.
If the jug isn't usable is there any reason that I shouldn't build with a 44.3mm 50cc OEM piston and cylinder like my 346XP NE?

Depends on what you plan for it. The older 45cc saws can be built into exceptional cutters. go 50cc if you plan on keeping it stock
i have one of each, both ported
