What Husky pn equated to the small bar mount on the 357.

Thanks for the help. The website would have you believe that every bar they list fits every chainsaw and I know thats not true.

I should be more clear my saw is 3/8 .50 small mount obviously but the Husky website doesn't identify the bars for a 357 and 372 both of which have different mount patterns.

HiOctane thanks for your response it would be fair to assume that all .325 bars are small mount hence the correct pn's you gave me for the limited information I provided.

I knew what I was talking about but I bet nobody else did.

You can run your 357 on 3/8 if you want, its up to you.I run my 346 EHP on 3/8,and i prefer that because there is a lot less chain stretching than using a 21LP(.325).I remember somebody in his area told on a post that they receive new 357 from distributor with 3/8 as std.

Thanks Trimmed, that first link you posted is my other one but I never got any information on Husky bars.

That second link was spot on, I don't know how I missed that I seemed to remember a post like that but couldn't find it. Hopefully I can return the favor sometime.

Thanks that was exactly what I was looking for in that second link. Thread closed as far as I'm concerned.

Husky 357 Bar & Chain again.

I'm looking for a Bar and Chain for my Husky 357XP. I want an 18 inch bar, and I need the chain to be 3/8th. I searched and found out that the 357XP has a "small Mount bar", but according to Huskys web site any bar will fit my saw.....:buttkick:

So If I am just looking for a nice quality 18 inch bar with SC chain, what should I buy and who sells them? Sorry I'm still learning, because this damn chain stuff is WAY more complicated than I ever imagined it to be. :jawdrop:

Thanks for the patience with my dumb-azz.

It takes the SMALL mount bar. The difference is where the holes line up, and where the chain tightener is.
It will, however take 3/8 or .325

You should look at the 2007 Baileys master catalog or their online catalog. these have the bar mount patterns for most of teh major pro saws and some older saws. Also they list just about every aftermarket bar and chain available, carltons, Woodsman Pro, Oregon Power Match, Windsor etc. By SC do you mean safety chain or square chisel? f its the square chisel, you probably want 72CL, if its safety chain, try a loop of 72V. Good luck!

Anyone take a good look at the Husky to Stihl bar mount adapter in the Bailey's catalog? It doesn't give specifics on the Husky mount that it will fit, but boy wouldn't that be nice if I could fit that up to my 357 and run the Stihl bar mount. The options would be endless.

The bar adapter in the baileys catelog is for the small stihl mount (044, 460, 660) Bar to the large mount husky, It appears to be for a 372xp.....

What they don't tell you is that husky's have differant bolt patterns between the large mount husky's. Meaning a 372 has differant stud spacing than a 272xp or 394/395. Even though they all use the same bar... would be wise to call baileys and see what saws that adapter fits.... I have an adapter for my 7900 that uses the Stihl bar, but it was custom made. The spacing between the holes, it would not work with the husky adapter....

The oil holes will not line up between the smal husky mount and the Stihl/Big husky mount bars..(Stihl and large husky have the same oil hole locations).

Hmmm, according to the US web-site the 531 30 05-86 is a .050 3/8" bar that fit the 357xp

....but I know there are more Husky 3/8" bars that will fit - at least .058 bars, both laminated and solid with replacable tip.

If you use the Oregon selector guide, it also show both laminated (Pro-lite) and solid w/replacable tip (Power-Match) bars for the 357xp (K095 = small Husky) mount pattern.

Other maufacturers, at least GB, also make 3/8" bars that will fit....

Deadman, check out the Carlton Pro-Champs at Bailey's web site, the 18" is $25 I think. I like the woodsman pro RC chain, haven't tried a semi-chisel from them. It might be a bit shorter as the 20" I just got for my 357 really measures 19" and is only 70DL.(fine by me the balance is perfect) The catalog only lists the large mount bars.
You could also get that scabbord you need for a few bucks:D I like to round my orders up to the match my shipping price (say $8.95) with a file here, a wedge there. Since these bars are made by GB and are titanium, I'm curious if folks think they are as good as the GB titanium everyone seems to like?
