Thanks for the help on previous post. Got a zama carb and installed and adjusted and now can reach wot with no problems. Pretty simple fix and ordered a spare just in case.
Next question, oil leaks out behind clutch cover. I did a search and found that the factory hoses had this problem so ordered the correct hose and replaced. The hoses that I ordered (part numbers that I found here) looked exactly the same as ordered. Put new hoses on and reassembled. Leaked exactly like before. I didn't start it up or anything but after reassembled, let it sit for a while and came back to find leaking. Maybe not as much as before, but still more than I would like from a pro saw. I have an old homelite with a manual pump that doesn't leak a thing. I was thinking a little leak is normal but this is more than I would like to leave on the floor or if i put it in my car. I bought a case mainly because of the leak. How much is an acceptable leak? Maybe i didn't get the oil pump to seat on the hose?
Next question, I took the muffler off to inspect the piston and there was a brown mark on the top of the piston, no gouges or streaks, just a small nickel size brown mark on the piston. Is this anything to be concerned with?
I bought the saw used for 300$ from a young guy who cuts fire wood for a second income in the winter. He said it was used for 1 year then wanted something bigger so I bought it having never owned a saw before. Nonetheless, Ive had fun taken apart the saw, cleaning it and what not. Now I dont feel so intimidated by it. And I got to buy some new tools :) Ch

Probably get more help in the chainsaw section im sure the mods will move it though. All of my chainsaw leak oil on to the floor lol. I have a echo 330t, brand new ms 180, 6401 makita, 372 is brand new to soon to tell and my 3 year old husky 395 leaks a pretty good bit to. I sit them on card board on my self and every 5 or 6 months I change it out. How much oil are we talking here my saws probably leave a spot about 3 or 4 inchs around under each. I also dont clean them up really well before i put them in the garage either.
