Good choice on the 372!!! Why anyone would put a 24" bar on a 60cc saw is beyond me. The only reason I can possibly see is if that 60cc saw is the biggest you have and the 24" bar will be used every once in a while................other than that leave the 24" bars for the 70cc and up class saws!!!

Ok gassed her up this evening with 93 octane (no ethanol) mixed with STIHL HP Ultra 2-Cycle Engine Oil at 50:1....started up no problem and no smoke. Cut a few rock-hard lilac branches I had laying around but will have to wait to get it into some trees/logs.

The lowest we can buy here, is 92. But we use Aspen fuel, alkylat. It's premix with syntetic oil, and can be stored for years.
Environmently friendly, and very good for engine, compared to pump fuel.

We can get as low as 85 octane gas here because of the higher elevations in Montana. My wife's Toyota 4Runner runs fine on 85 octane but my Dodge only likes 89 or above. I've asked around a bit about the premix and no one carries it here in Bozeman ...from what I've heard about it I'd use it if I could but instead I'm going with the synthetic Stihl product (I did see some much less expensive off-brand synthetic products at lowes and may try them) and high octane gas.

I think I'll be reading up on break-in procedures and then how to tune the carb for our elevation (4,839ft/1481m is the elevation at the house but we'll be gathering our wood in the mountains at a somewhat higher elevation).

The saw came w/20" bar but I can tell already I will be buying a 24" bar.

The saw I bought has the half-wrap handle.
