I would like to give a shoot out to Oldirty for the climbing line setup. I finally moved the pulley out on to the ST and boy is it nice, works just like you said it would. I also took the rope snap off the end of my climbing line and replaced it with a biner on a double fisherman's so I can unclip it and pull it through crotches for easy TIP changes. It's DA BOMB!

I think I would have done that back lead a little different, but I'm going by pics and you were there.

Stubs are icky and always cause problems later on. With all the room almost looks like the whole tree could been flopped? That was probably a sappy son of a B.

Same climbing set up I'm using now, also thanks to OD. Messed around with the self tending set up he suggested as well last night. You'd get a kick out a that rig too Nails. Nice work, boss.

took me a minute to figure that out too bud. you'll like it. thanks though!

one drawback though and you kinda do need to be aware of it. say you tied in and you are leaning away from the tip reaching way out sometimes its tough to get back to the knot. a simple length adjustment will fix from either on the bridge or the splittail. you'll see it.

this setup has never left me hanging though so have no fear using it.

hey todd. how are you blowing them tops out if your not climbing? got a tall bucket and a few poles to set the line? lol

nails i love the photo albums you got going on. i dont know.... i just like seeing pics of tree work.

your old man looked content, seeing his boys bump knots and square'n off the wood. good shot.

when you gonna let me come climb some of your tree's man?

blakes thanks for believing in what ive used. means something....to me at least. dont worry though you guys are going to off to the next thing in no time. gotta evolve or get stuck behind in this game. lol

I understand you are interested in the tree biz, well here is your first lesson. Those stubs are strategically left to stand on while performing operations and to be used as rigging points. All useless stubs were flush cut.

Take a look at the pic where I am cutting that lead while it is being pulled over, I am standing on a stub. Those two were also used as a ladder to get into that crotch.

The top stubs were used to butt hitch out those limbs and offer a secure high tie in point for my climbing line, once I get there of course. The mid stub is left as an optional cutting platform.

We climbed it just to show the customer that they were getting what they were payin for. Drives the point home when they see the extra effort.

I just don't like to count on a white pine hinge. I would have roped the back lead off with the front then bombed the front lead.

Like I said, I'm just going by pics. Things can look different.
