Dustytools, I will bring my stock 361 and my 6401 with a 7900 topend to the Ohio gtg. Least that way you could feel the powerhead weights back to back and compare them with 16" b+c's too.
Then I have a 18" for the 361 and a 20" for 6401.
You want be able to compare running them back to back, due to the 6401 having a modded 7900 topend.
The book specs shows there is a difference of 1.3 pounds difference in powerhead weights, but when i pick up the 6401 powerhead i am surprised how light it feels to me. I have a 357 and 361 and IMO they feel exactly the same weight and balance use and feel.

If you could, bring the 357 as well. Im hearing a lot of good stuff about it as well. Thanks Cut4fun. Thanks to everyone who has replied as well.

Will do.
The 361 and 357 feel the same in balance and feel. The 6401 has a different balance and feel compared to the 357 and 361. Just wanted to clear that up.
My above post seem to got twisted around saying that all 3 feel the same. They do not imo.

Been snowing since I bought my 361, wanted to leave for a couple day cutting this morning, not in the stars, dang.

I am on my 3rd tank with my 361 just re-cutting already cut firewood around the house. Have to say, I can already tell the 361 is one h311 of a saw, speaks very well for the 6401 and 357 to be mentioned in the same topic!

Sounds like were talkin about some pretty nice saws all around and I see people mentioning the 361 constantly(and not by coincidence). I would bye the Stihl on pure instinct alone because they are hot runners, but that's just me. Either way you will come out a winner, enjoy:hmm3grin2orange:

The 361 is a much more "hot runner" than the older Stihl designs, because of the 4-channel porting (like Husky xps), etc.......:greenchainsaw:

I read somewhere that the 6400 is a two-port design, but I am not 100% sure......

Just so you know i am not biased at one saw or the other. I own all 3. Just the 6401 is a 7900.

But if you could only have one saw as a homeowner and maybe someday wanted a bigger saw and could do it for only another $200. Only one saw in the 3 could do this.
