I did a search for once, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Are the 372xp owners out there satisfied with the volume that the oiler puts out for up to 28" bars or is there a high output oiler that bumps the amount of oil up a bit? I read the thread where the 357/359 oiler is a drop in replacement for the 346's and wondered if there were an oiler like that for the 372.

Also... will the HD air filter that Bailey's sells for it fit under the cover? I've seen a lot of pics of saws running seemingly large filters and no cover.

thanks,
Ian

I don't know about the oiler, but the air filter will work as long as the saw has the high top cover on it. I think just about all of the 372XPs that have been sold over here have them anyway.

The shortest bar I run on my 372 is 28", I haven't had any problems with the oiler. I have to watch it because I can set the oiler to where it runs out before I run out of gas.
Like Urbicide said, the filters from Bailey's will fit if it's the high top (I haven't seen a 372 that wasn't). I think all my saws are running their filters.

Judging on how much adjustment is left when the oiling is more than adequate with a 24", a 28" should be no problem with the standard oiler.

I don't know about the Bailey air filter - Husky offer different size and type air filters, and different height filter covers to fit. Imo the low type should be more than adequate under anything but extreme conditions, and preferable...:)

I have run my 372 for some lightish milling and have turned the oiler right up and had more than enough oil for running a 24" bar, i have found that the differences between brands of oils makes one heck of a difference, i now only use stihl oil which is a lot thinner than some other brands and seems to do a better job as it lubricates the chain much better,

I have only run the standard air filter and havent managed to block it even when milling, so i dont see that unless your in some really nasty conditions that the heavy duty filter would make a difference, it may even cost you some performance from what i have read on here.

Agreed, leave the high tops to stihl ppl with dust gatherers... :yoyo:

I'm assuming then that you ordered it from bailey's? Did you get the xp or the xpw? I ordered an xpw a couple days ago and was told it's backordered. So I'm jealous that yours is in the mail... Have fun with her,

I have not had problems with oiler but the small oil holes on
some of them bars are too tiny for my liking, so I drill them out to make it
harder for them to clog.

I've found the oiler fine for up to 32" on mine. If I turn it to max, it has about 20% of the oil left when the gas runs out with Bailey's Motion Lotion. If I run Canola oil, it has about 5-10% of the tank remaining at max.

When I run Canola, I'm very generous with the oil as it cleans up very easily and I'd rather spend a few cents more on oil and less on bars and chains. When I run conventional bar oils I run it more sparingly as it really goops the saw up if I over lube.

XPW, wanted the extra few CCs but not the full wrap so I ordered their aftermarket half wrap handle too. Mine is also backordered :bang: but I was told a day or two ago that they might be in tomorrow or Friday. :biggrinbounce2: I won't be seeing mine till EHP gets finished pouring a bottle of magic into the intake so I expect you'll get to play with yours before I do.

For my purposes the half-wrap version is likely more than I'll typically need but I understand the reasoning behind getting the full wrap version (extra cc's plus the huge price difference between the half-wrap handle ($17.95 for the part) and full wrap handle ($89.95 for the part) which is much greater than the price difference ($10) between the saw w/ half wrap and the saw w/ full wrap)......maybe I should have done the same(?).
My half-wrap version came 2 weeks ago but I've only had the chance to start her up and saw through some dead limbs that were lying around.....toying :yoyo: rather than playing I guess.

Question: what do you mean "EHP pouring a bottle of magic into the intake?"

EHP (Ed Heard Performance) is doing a woods port on it. Should bump cut speed by 30-40% from stock. Do I need it? Nope... my DN361 meets my needs.. the EHP372 will meet my wants (hopefully).

You will want more...bigger, better, faster, more!

Did you run the 372 before you had it modded? I would personally want to see what difference in performance my $200 -$250 was buying.

Worth every penny!!!

Nope, had Bailey's ship it directly to him to save me some shipping money (every little bit counts). I am going to ask him to do a before and after video for a comparison. They'll probably be posted on his forum if he does it. He posts a lot of videos of his work, so I don't think it'll be a problem.
