Lookin to remove muffler on 372 and cant find a allen wrench to fit! Best i cant tell it looks like a allen head bolt with a pin in the middle of the head. Any suggestions? Baileys sell a wrench? Thanks:)

Hmmmm. Must be a tamper-proof allen head. Might be tough to find a suitable tool for that. Your Husqvarna dealer might be the best bet.

Thanks metals406. Thats exactly what i need. Holy cow, 22.00 for a set of 6 metric bits. OUCH!!!
Brad, I know youve seen way more saws than me, so i dont feel so bad now. The 4 screws on the outside is regular allen head bolts, but the 2 that hold the muffler to the jug is definitely tamper resistant allen head bolts. Beats me:)

You're welcome. . . As far a sticker shock, Wiha tools are top of the line. Ask Brad Snelling about investing in saw tools. :jawdrop:

I am reviving this old thread because I've run into the same type tamper proof bolt on this 2017 372XP X-torq. The two screws set deep in the muffler are tamper proof hex heads. I've searched high and low for either a set or a single, 4-6" long, hex, tamper proof bit (or L shaped key). Does anyone know the size used on these saws? I'm assuming its pretty close to the T-27 torx screws that are also on the saw.
Thanks in advance.

The two bolts going to the cylinder have a larger head than the rest of the screws. They are either 3/16 or 5MM, I can’t remember which. Or the later ones use T27.

The 372 X-Torque saws use a standard T27 torx screw. Been that way for several years. Never seen one that used a legitimate tamper resistant fastener. Not saying they never did though it’s certainly possible.

Got some long torx bits for my inpact off of Amazon a couple of years ago and they came with the hole in the center and have lasted for a long time, don't know where they are made but really good tool steel- worked on a lot of 372 and 390's and have never seen a tamper proof mufler bolt, must be something new, I would change them to regular allan myself when you get them out..

They should be M6 screws and they take a 5 mm bit, never seen insex security bolts, torx are more common(?) and you can usually find a torxbit that fits in a allenhead screw. Maybe a t40 security bit?
