do any of you guys have trouble with the 385 boot between the carb and jug
as soon as it gets cold up here below 5 to 10 degrees f. for you guys in the states you cannot keep then together
the dealer here changes the boots on a saw 3 to 5 times in the winter and we have alot of them up here alot of guys have gone back to the 372 just because of the trouble and it is not from the operator miss using them
i guess you could just run them in the summer but that doesnot make alot of sense now does it

We had a lot of problems last winter with the 385xp intake boot, however it seems either we have had an incredible streak of good luck or they have fixed the problem with the rubber getting brittle when cold, as we haven't seen any new/repeat problems with it...as far as I have seen, an annoying early problem but hopefully not enduring.

or they are giving you guys the good boots
we are already having trouble up here this winter and i know as soon as we get to the 35 to 40 below weather just stand in line for yours to get fixed

EHP, we actually had a thread about this last winter on the dealer forum...and yes...I have probably replaced over 50 of them...most of them on the same 10 saws, in cold weather conditions....what we did to cure the problem...well, ok....not cure it....but take a dremel and cut out the plastic support that the boot rides on...so when its cold and vibrating...it hits nothing....it only makes the boot last longer....doesn't cure the problem all together....The intake boots I order from Jonsered seem to be better than the ones I get from Husky if that makes any sense at all...(same part number)....but I don't have near the problems....

There is a modified boot, with a manufacturing code"b" as opposed to the old "a". The ordernumber is the same: 537 11 14-01.

This boot is default on saws from s/n: 023900001

Also there's a new carb. bottom-plate from s/n: 030900401.
The new version has the manufacture-code K stamped on it.
Order number: 537 00 14-02.

Hope this helps

/Ola
