Ok well my 385XP that Dan Henry did for me a few years ago started acting up yesterday while I was felling oversize Pine that our Timbco cant cut . After making my face cut and starting my bore cut , got half way through and pulled saw out to go bore other side , it just screams wont return to idle , squeeze throttle a few times to see if it would kick down and nothing still wont come down.

So it was somewhat cold here yesterday low teens and single digits so I thought maybe something was freezing up , so went to our shop let saw sit in the heat for a few hours and also backed the idle screw off almost 1/4 turn . Started it up and still same problem..

Anyone have any idea on what it can be ? I figure it must be the carb just dont know what ?? Give me some help fellas

It's not wide open it's almost like it's sticking on High idle , but it will do it a few times and then it wont but it does it all through the day , kinda agravating . I'll check those things

Inspect the throttle shutter in the carburetor. I could be worn and causing the saw not to idle. Or an air leak like previously posted.

You may want to pull the carburetor and check the throttle butterfly. If the retaining screw in the center of the butterfly comes loose it will allow the butterfly to turn and bind in the bore of the carburetor holding the throttle partially open. I would also check the throttle shaft for wear.
