2004 395XP is leaking oil at the oil tank vent that comes out in the chain adjustment grove. Inside the oil tank, the hose is hooked up to the fitting that exits out at the chain adjustment grove. The other end of the hose is not hooked to anything. It just ends off up near the top of the tank. Is this correct?

The open end of the oil vent tube should be tucked under the lip of the filler hole, at least that's how it is on a lot of Husqvarna saws. Have no experience with a 395. It could be oil is pouring down it when you fill the oil tank. Just a thought.

That vent tube is supposed to be wedged into a corner at the top of the oil tank. If it is too short / doesn't stay you need a longer replacement tube
