I was down helping do more clean up at tree monkey 's ...turns out he he got a 395xp in to port. So figured I'd run it stock vs my stock 661... Cuz I gotta test something! I can't just go cut wood ya know!

7 pin .404 36" RS. same gas. same bar oil. same chain. tree monkey checked the tune on the 395. 661 is broke in. 395...his customer said it was a runner. cuts done with in minutes of each other.

661 - 51.7 , 51.4
395 - 54.8 53.4

i expected the 395 to win. but i expected the 661 to be closer than most would think. Didn't expect the 661 to win. Can't wait til tree monkey is done with both of them to see ported vs ported. I expect the 395 to win the ported battle.

50 second cuts with 404/36" bc is the way to compare those saws, interesting I'd have guessed the 395 for the win too. Interested in the times after porting, ya should keep the same log aside if possible. Hope TM is getting through his tornado troubles.

I haven't beat a 661 with a 395 yet or a 394 with any bar.
The 394 I have here now would be a good one to try with but I don't have a 661 here.
There's guys who build one better than the other so results will vary.

A well broke in 661 is a great running saw.
