Long slow degradation could be carbon... get a new coil first though.

There have been no issues with the carbs at all (assuming good gas in the machine!).

Chain speed? Look at changing the spocket on your head... I'm pretty sure Stilh did a year or so back.

I have a HT101 that was hard to start, put in a new plug and it fired right up, ran for the job we were doing, then a few days later wouldnt start again. being it was a late saturday afternoon, we swapped a plug out of another tool it fired up ran, seemed ok, but now it wont start again, tried another new plug, spark appears to be good but the dam thing wont start, sometimes as u pull it seems as if it wants to fire but doesnt start other times, nothing, keep pulling the plug and grounding it and it shows spark, im wondering if my module is shot after reading this thread.

Well im not sure then what else could be wrong, minus compression, but reading the thread the compression isnt able to be done on the four mix because of a built in decompression valve in the engine

Flooding or running extremely rich will cause this. A flooded plug will not fire.
