4012 vs 7015 carlton

Heres my dilemma , i have a rayco 1625 jr. it will be sold,
i just got a contract for approx. 6 000 inches per year for two years from a city. and i still have all my residential stumps as well on top of that.

At what ??? time is it wise to jump up into the larger stump grinder.
I was just going to get the 4012 34hp but now i have to re-think about if I will be beating up the that with that many stumps or getting the 4012 with the desil.

At what time would you guys move up to the 7015 stumper.

If you have the extra loot go with the 7015trx. I have one and it is a cutting beast. I have done 8' stumps quickly with no problem. I don't think it's as bad as everyone thinks on lawn tearing if your careful. It will also fit through a 35" gate so you can still get at those hard to get places. The retractable tracks sure beat spending time to take off the extra front tires and is a nice option that provides unmatched stability on hilly or muddy situations. It is my first stump grinder and I opted for the most powerful machine that will still go through a gate offered by Carlton. I demoed the Rayco RG90 and Vermeer sc60trx and without a doubt IMO the Carlton easily out cut them and was more ruggedly built. Maintenance is simple and the wireless remote is a great option you can always see what your cutting in tricky situations.

Go with the 7015. I have one and you can grind (8) 20inch stumps in an hour. thats 160 inches! Your contract for 6000 inches equal 38 hours of grinding. what did you bid for 6000 inches? Just curious.

Howel 6000 inches is worth around 34K, thats also clean-up and sod.
Would you say that your estimate on the 120" in 38 hrs, is correct , i have no hour meeter on my 1625 rayco now so i have lost all ways to calculate this. , Does this include travel time to and back to the trailer, because this some times is all most 1/4 to 1/2 of the time to do the stump.

I was giving you grinding time only with a 7015. No loading or unloading,no transit time. With a 1625 rayco it would take you 3 times as long. I also do city work on an as needed basis. typically i charge $1.50 to $2.00 per inch. 6000 inches would be a min. of 90k with no cleanup or sod work.

Sorry for the error. your math is correct. I ran the numbers on my calculator and the decimal point was wrong. 2000 inchs @2.00 inch equal 12k. With cleanup and sod you should do wel at 34k. My bad
Still think you should go for the 7015....much faster.

Get the 7015 no if's, and's, or butts. I have the 4012 and it is good, however the 7015 can do residential and commercial. Do the right thing.....7015....

id go with the 7015 time is money when grinding stumps. smaller units are nice . but its nice to get in and out to the next job. it will be a nice grinder to add to your bussiness. and will last you a long time.. good luck with your choice..

i have a 4400-4 which is the same machine. been using it for several years.your right on, no comparison with the 4012. 70" sweep vs. 40" on the 4012, big diesel vs. gas...no contest.
