has anyone seen any new bigger rotax;s , i talked to russ last year and he was trying to build a 455 cc saw but have not seen it
i know that the 370 cc saw that was built on the same bottom end as the 325 didnot work

ehp, Jim Taylor is suppose to get one of those saws. I talked to him about it this fall and he hadn't seen or heard anything from Russ. I think he's building one for himself first. The 370's cranks flexed and they couldn't keep the chain on them. Thats when Melvin and Russ had a falling out!

That show is the John Miller Memorial, held at Myrtle Creek, OR. put on by Bill and Bonnie Miller. The next day you head to Toledo, Or. for there show. Cottonwood is cut the first day and hard Douglas fir the 2nd day. At Toledo, the stock saw race is a bore in, then a down cut, then come to the top and match your bore cut. The saw was a dead stock 372. This is a hard cut to do with a lot of speed, but lots of fun!

Tom i know you are thinking ya full of sh$t but if i can get a hold of tiny and get a picture of it i will show you , i have never thought of it and it does luck like alot of work
now the new motor is not a rotax's motor for what i have been told, russ has casted his own jugs and built his own bottom end
in the snowmobile as a 2 cylinder engine i guess they are real fastest

woodland had the rotax out today and we are making headway
soon it will be so faster that he will just pick it up , put it at the end of the log and the cookies will just fall off, no need to start it,
it will be hard to time i think
but yes it is faster for sure , it was 45 degrees there today

Thanks to 394 , ya i forgot his name but yes it was Cliff Veron
He also makes crosscuts that are flat with no belly, just another way of thinking but they work

Ed,
I ran against Cliff out in Conn. this past September for a hotsaw expo (Last min.) I ran my 026CC against his 175 jap thing/ frankenstien he built. Lets just say I beat him to the wood, he returned with cutting off his first cookie before I was 2 inches in the cut and then bogged it out on the up cut. Yep you guessed it the 026CC won that little race. But if his saw was running right he would of dusted me. But its all in fun.

By the way on Saturady of that meet Lavon M. took ladies overall and Gretchen (My better half) was second over all.

Later,
Chris

It takes Guys like Cliff to get things going and make people think and not just go along with the norm.

started to file that new chain for the rotax , boy it looks good , if the weather says as warm as it is now i will be able to tell you soon on if it worked

Hey Tom that looks like it would really cut, how many hours did that take , and why are you giving out all of your secrets now . Do you think that guys like gypo or someone else could not figure that out an sell them cheap

He is smart, that gypo , i know he is alot smarter than me but really that does not give him much credit. The space shuttle has nothing on him, he is right up there with it. You better be carefull other people have eyes to besides gypo, they will but you right out of bussiness, ha that maybe not a bad thing . Nobody bothering you ,that could be nice for awhile now Tom

Hi nerd boys, I think I am dumber than a sack of hammers, Ed said it was only 180 miles to his place from Ballinafad, but I got lost. There ain't no timber up here!
John

not to sure about that john , and you say that is only 180 miles from me to those pictures. i can see that a logger would make lots of money there and i think 1 sling is all you need on your skidder to skid those big trees.
hey Tom i got a chain sent to me with 3/4 cutters on a 1/2 drive chain , want me to send it out to you
somene had to much time on there hands

Ed, how does one put that bigger size tooth on the smaller spacing? Do you relocate the holes and/or just let the rivets mash down and take up the slack? If this can be done, how about putting some of the .404 teeth on a 3/8 chain? Mike

he welded the back hole hole up and redrilled them to the right spacing
anything can be done if you have enough time or money

ehp, before this new 404 chain came out, Tom put the 3/8's teeth on the old 404 frame for a contest where you had to run 404 chain. Those guys never did figure out why they were getting beat like a redheaded stepchild. Tom's wife Gina won one year too. Nothing worst than getting beat by a woman! I'm glad I wasn't there! ahahahah Dennis

i am sad to say but i have been beaten by Danny when things just didnot go right but once in a while you have to know it is going to happen
she does run well most of the time with here 084
she is the best female chainsaw operator we have out here
