What kind of saw is it? Or are you asking which top handle can get to 4hp? I thought you had to have like a 60cc saw to get that kind of power. You have what maybe 30 in a top handle?

Touch your name at the top of the screen and then touch signature on the menu that shows up to fill out your Sig that appears after each post. You could list your saws there

I'm leaning towards the husky 540xp it's 35cc pushin 2.4 hp I believe it was

I don't really need all theses saws so I want to build 1 badass my mac 610 is pushin 4hp so that's my minimum goal from their I'll stumble across a big saw sometime I can always borrow my dad's echo 701vl till then

I doubt you would see 4hp out of any top handle climbing saw , for work . If you had it ported by one of the fine gentleman on here , you might realize a 30-40% gain , which would put a husky T540 right about 3 - 3.4 hp ( roughly)

I could live with 3.5 hp I'm basically just trying turn a beautifully balanced Lightweight tophandle into enough of a powerhouse to handle being my go to saw for say upto 10" hardwood

And if I can accomplish it reasonably easy/cheap enough with enough gains to make it worth while maybe even offer a mod kit for sale

Get yourself a 338xpt or T540 , or ms200t , or similar pro saw , muffler mod it , advance the timing a tad bit , and see if it pleases you enough .... if it doesn't send it out to one of the extreme porters on here . Put a freakin 10 or 12 inch bar on it too .

Any idea where to get the 540 used I'm really hoping to luck across one but I don't see that happening round here

Lol is the shorter bar gonna make that much difference? My efco 132s actually came with a 16" I prefer it for reach..

Dont buy a 201t. Echo does have the 360t. 36cc saw. But it takes some gutting of exhaust and tuning caps pulled to make it a bit happier. The ignition sucks on them tho they advance slow. The best bet if you want rpm and power is a modded 200t or 020. I love my echo and wont get rid of it. But you just cant top the 200t with work done to it. Only other option i could think of is retro fit a 46cc to 50cc clam block into a saw housing but your exhaust would not exti out the side

Clamp block? That was my first thought was to just mod a top handles onto idk my husky 300xp

I think a poulan pro engine or a echo cs 510 clam engine would work wonders but it may torque back with as quick as they snap up in rpm and rotating mass

Echo has a 355 that is 35.6cc and with some porting work it could be a saw of mass destruction for its small compact size
