1. It keeps me warm even when I am climbing in the cold weather. For those of you out west stick your head in your freezer and imagine! Those fellas up North can stop laughing, it is cold to me!
2. Reduces the beating from the ol' chuck and duck on those nasty Pin Oak deadwooding prunes.
3. The hood fits over the helmet with the hearing protection on without choking my neck.
4. With good posture you look buff as it easily hides 20 pounds easily!
5. No matter how many times I wash it I always have wood chips in the front pocket to give me that close to the tree feeling.:biggrinbounce2:

i like as little as possible hanging loose when working,i went to gandermountain(hunting fishing supplies) and got fleece "under-wear" top and longjons are plenty with work pants

a longjon base ,then the fleece lare and shortsleeve work shirt ,everything stretches and fits tightly cept the t-shirt and pants

really likeing the double thick fleece arborwearsweatshirt or hoodie, wouldnt mind trying it out for kicks

you guys are wearing longjons already, it isnt even cold yet, i dont even break out my lined carhartts till we hit -10 and i wont put long jons on unless it is windy and -10 or less i cant believe you even need long jons in VA

I have a similar hoodie from Arborwear and don't care for it.The hood doesn't fit under my helmet and it's just too bulky to wear in the tree...But it sure is warm...You'll be sweatin in no time in it...

I have one from Arborwear (had for only $60 at tcia expo!) and I love it . I like the big hood prolly cuz it fits my head...lol . I also like how the zipper cant rub your chin.

They did have some pretty sweet deals on clothing...

The arborwear hoodies have basically become my winter wear. The hoods on the double thick are actually made to go over the helmet. And oddly, mine seem less bulky than any other hoodie i've ever worn. The old asplundh double knit hoodies, now those were bulky. These seem to fit snug and tight.

My only two compaints, the double thick are too hot to wear in anything over single digits, but thankfully they also have the lighter one too. And due to my climbing style, the inside of the forearms seem to wear out much faster on these than other sweatshirts i've worn. My wife has just been sewing an extra layer along the inside of the arms that's seems to be working out well.

They get super heavy when wet too.

The dude from Arborwear told me at the expo that the lower half of the hoodie was made with having a saddle on (over it) in mind . I love mine . I have a hard time finding coats/jackets that fit right. If I can move my arms well then the waist is freakn huge and all ballooned out , can't even see my saddle! Man I could go on n on n on bout how much I like DT fullzip...I also like the "Aquilla" coat .IDK about workn in it though.....I need it:biggrinbounce2: for just PIMPN

I bought double thick sweatshirts for the crew last year. They are very warm and we all look good with matching sweatshirts with the company name on the back. I got a new carhart jacket this year. Medium tall - fits great! Not too bulky so I can actually work in it. Warm in the mornings now but by 10am I gotta shed it.

I love my STP account because I can find stuff that fits me for dirt cheap.

I picked up some Asolo boots for $60 that retail for $185 and some Marino wool socks for $5.50 ea.

Blew all the savings on some dog-beds for the living room  and a pile of squeaky-toys.

Whats an STP account ? Which Asolo boots did u get ? I think I would like some in the spring . I am finally learning that logger boots are great for spurs and stompn on things but not so great for trimming .

I believe hes refering to Karl Keummerling arborist supplies in Ohio? They used to be one of the only arborist stores around.(way back when) I have 2 double thicks from the late 70s early 80s, and just like they advertise, theyll keep you warm till there so full of holes that yer wife will make you throw it out.

My oldest pullover has to be 12 or 13 years old, it's still going, even though the front pocket is no longer there, and the wrists are torn up. For me the biggest drawback to these shirts is that the neck is too tight when putting on, but more importantly taking off. As far as warmth goes, I find that they are a good protective, outer layer, but not much beyond that.

I am already wearing longjons in SoCal! Lately, in the mornings it's a good 40 brrrr!! I get pretty warm in them later on in the day though.

i went to local arborist supply (blueridgearboristsupply) tired on the new arbor wear jacket and WOW,couldnt see working in that thing i started sweating within 5 min just walking around the store ,but im impressed

Saw Arborwear double thick hoodies at the local ####s Sporting goods store today! $69 bucks. Was kind of suprised to see them in there, didn't think they were that well recognized nationally? I'm sure most people look at the tag and think Arborwhat? WTH is that?
