I have a bunch of saws for sale. An 028 Super, 038 Magnum, MS440, MS460 and 066. All are in real good shape, completely checked out with lots of new parts. Carbs will need to be adjusted as pistons/rings seat and they will be shipped 1 turn out from H and L on each saw, so you may want to do slight adjustment to your area.

Before you ask why, I will say, that since I am back at work now, I am spending more time working on saws and less time using them. I want to get back to using saws and milling wood, building furniture and less time working on saws.

I don't have prices set. These don't have to be sold, so be reasonable, these are in good shape with lots of new parts. The first reasonable offer/payment gets the saws. They will be shipped without bar and chains, since most of you have them anyways.

check out the links below for each saw.

Tom

028 AV Super
038 Magnum
MS440 Magnum
MS460 Magnum
066 Magnum

As of now (pending receipt of payment), the 066 and MS460 have been spoken for.

The 038 Magnum, 028 AV Super, and MS440 are still available for offers.

Thanks

Tom

getcher eyeballs offa my 038Mag, Dan! You know I still regret selling my first Stihl 8 years ago, and mine was a Magnum also. Wish there was a way to put the 044 air filter on it...

Gotta talk myself into grabbin it...

mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn, I've had negative cash flow for two months now. Savings is getting low, gotta hold out till work picks back up. If it's still available in 2 months I'll buy it.
:(

Sorry about that. Lots of replies to these post in the PM box. It's cleaned out now. What specifics do you want to know? Now I can say, just send me a PM.

Tom, is it an 038 Magnum or an 038 Super with a Magnum cover? Super was 4.1 C.I. and Magnum was 4.4 C.I. or something like that. The saw cover says Magnum but your text says Super.

Unless I'm missing something I don't see where he refers to the 038 as being a Super. He does however refer to the 028 as being a super. I've talked to Tom about his 38 and it is indeed a magnum.

Sorry my bad ....It's a Magnum 52mm bore, brand new bottom and top end so I'm sure it's got the 52mm bore. When I was writing out those other pages I must have left the Super in there from when I was doing the 028, I will have to change that.

I just came in from cutting some 18-20" diamater oak with my 038 Mag and absolutely love this saw. This was my first time to really use it and I'm impressed.

Just incase anyone is wondering, the 52mm cylinder will not fit the other saws (i.e. you can't put a 038mag cylinder on a 038av as the cases are different).

Thanks Bikepilot, you just had to say that didn't you? WTF have I done??? I just bought that 038 Mag for more than I paid for my first one brand new 20 years ago! I must be insane or something, is there a cure for this?

Are you sure? I was thinking of getting this kit for my 038 Super. They claim it fits Super and Magnum:

Can't say specifically about that aftermarket set, however; the 038 and 038 Super cylinder screw pattern is different from the 038 Magnum cylinder screw pattern. They take two different crankcases.

Unless they opened up the holes to allow for the differences, I'm not sure. It's been my experience that the 038 magnum is a seperate animal from the other 038's.

Good move Skwerl. I honestly dont think you will regret it. I love my 038 mag ll and the cure will be using that sucker. I have a 24" bar and chain on mine. She could handle more but I have nothing to cut any bigger than that. The one you just bought looks really good. I was admiring it last night...lol..:D
