Husqvarna 575XP (2004)
Previous owner said that it would start and idle but wouldn’t throttle up (starving for fuel). He pressure washed the saw and then it wouldn’t start at all. He let it sit for a few days to “dry out” and then the lower end seemed to be “noisy” when he would pull it over.
I acquired the saw through a trade. I cleaned out and adjusted the carb a little. It now starts, idles, and throttles up. I ran the saw, with a bar and chain, on the test bench for a minute or two and have not put it into wood.
I’ve looked the saw over, and here are the deficiencies I’ve found:
· The lower end does sound a little “dry”… if that makes sense.
· It has good compression and the piston still has the factory machining marks on the skirt.
· The chain brake handle is broken; otherwise the chain brake works as it should.
· The wrap handle is dented on the left side.
· One clutch shoe has a piece missing and the Clutch Drum is worn. However, this doesn’t seem to affect its function.
· One muffler-to-cylinder bolt is missing, but the hole is in good shape (not stripped). Also needs a muffler gasket.
· One of the top cover clips needs to be replaced. The little tab that keeps it attached to the saw is broke off.
· The starter is missing a few of the “fins” and the rope is a little short. Again, functions properly.
· Spark plug wire has electrical tape on it. I haven't taken it off to take a look.
Let me know if you need more pics or info.
