I'm selling a vermeer 620 chipper with a 20 hp kohler magnum. The chipper has approx. 1400 hours on it and the engine has approx 400 hours on it. I have an extra set of knives for it and a spare tire and rim. It works great I just needed a larger chipper to keep up with my work load. I can send pictures if necessary. I'm asking $3000 obo.

Me want!. In fairness, I have another deal pending at the moment but if it doesn't close by Wed I want your chipper!

Well it appears that I have won the bid on an Olathe 984. I don't consider things final until they have the money and I have the chipper but if someone else out there was wanting Tod's 620 but was being polite because of my interest you propably should speak up. If something weird happens and the seller of the Olathe doesn't complete the sale I 'll jump back on the Vermeer.

I`m interested but I`m not sure that I want to drive to Cinci to pick it up. The 620 is a nice little machine.

Hey Russ, I drove to Delaware to purchase a Bandit 65...a few less miles, but I did it in 1 day...about 750 miles round trip.

Guys-it is official- I picked up the Olathe today(man I HATE Denver traffic!) My first thought upon seeeing the 984 was that I hope I don't regret getting it instead of the 620. But the bottom line was that I don't like to back out of a deal and I had made a bid. The more I look at this beast the more pleased I am. It is older and heavier to tow than those cute little 620s and will undoubtably use more fuel in the 2.3 litre Ford but as the saying goes-"Nobody ever says:"Man, I wish I had bought a smaller chipper":) the seller said that it is a 6 inch machine but it looks to me like it was designed for up to 9" In any case it has big toothed feed wheels, a very fast feed rate on the high end and, and, and,....... I can't wait to work it and see what it is really capable of.

Glad to hear you got a good deal. Bigger is better in regards to chipping brush. A 2.3 ford has a lot more horsepower. You'll be amazed at how much time your new chipper saves you.

Thanks Tod, I appreciate your graciousness. I hope that you sell your 620 just as quickly as you wish .

I have 3 people that have expressed interest so far. I need to buy a new digital camera so I can send some pics.

Happy chipping.:D

As much as possible Stumper! We did a crane removal on Friday. There were three large Sugar Maples and a large American Elm. We used a crane due to the close proximity to transmission lines and the fact that three of the trees were over a structure with an EDPM roof. We were able to place the cut pieces in the infeed of the chipper right from the crane. Only twice did we need to cut crotches to get them to feed (they were 7"-10" branches (3) that terminated into a 15" stem). The whole job produced 25-30 yards of chips and a 15' dump truck bed of large wood. This job would have taken us 2 days with our old chipper. We finished everything including cleanup in 6 hours with 4 guys. I just purchased a new digital camera and the card to put video on my computer. I'll take a couple of videos and post them. My winch is the best part of the chipper. I took down a large elm today and it was in a backyard with at hill. We were able to winch all of the wood to the truck saving time and our backs.
