I've been doing distribution line clearing for 24 years. Had an Altec LB650, and replaced it with an LRV60-E70 in 2002. Mounted on a 2003 IH 4400 with a 14.5 cuft chip box. Don't know how I survived without it. Finest aerial I've ever run. My knees aren't that great any more, so the 75' height saves alot of climbing. Plus with doing line work, we are actually able to get LOWER on the trunk of a tree during side-trimming by raising the elevator up to get over the phases easier. Production level went up dramatically with the purchase of the unit. Plus we are frequently tasked to do jobs that the other contractors can't do because of the added capability, increasing our worth to the company. The other contractors say that they wouldn't shell out the extra cost for the elevator ... I'm saying I would now NEVER be without it. Have really had no trouble with it to speak of. Had a leaky upper boom cylinder shortly after it was put into operation, and Altec was great in taking care of it. Has about 1800 hrs on it now, and with regular scheduled maintenance, has been very reliable. High quality unit, and by taking care of it, I'm sure it will continue to take care of me.

Welcome B&B, to the site. Line clearance guys get a lot of ribbing here, but I am one too, and I am glad another utility guy is here. The most important tree job there is.
