Albut geared for l that is very true, what has been said. However,Before I found this site,One chainsaw would have been enough. Now I have to have saws in all power ranges and bar sizes,Look for excuses to buy more stuff, and constantly have almost uncontrollable want to cut wood,it is like a warped adolesant sex drive, but geared for saws:cry: :greenchainsaw:

Ditto on that. I failed to mention my stable has doubled in size since joining. I guess it's just an appreciation and respect for the engineering that has gone into these saws.
I'm in the middle of restoring a Mall GP (like my dad had) and of course, I just dropped the hint to my wife on another one. Isn't it great that women mean yes when they say no!

Howdy All,

I must say this site and the folks here have been wonderful. I thank you all. I'm up to 8 saws now but still use my orignal/first saw I purchased used. I cut a mixed load of locust, cherry and red elm today.

Yesterday I had to turn down 8 other saws a buddy is selling as a lot. He did show me his NT grinder and I showed him the grinders threads. Now I went and ordered one of those today. I figured if Casseyforrest sold his bench mount stihl it must be good.

I'm looking forward to the future and fixing up the saws I have and I may be asking some bonehead questions. The search function works pretty good for me though, even on dail up. It has helped me out a good deal. I think I can buy used saws with confidence now provided I have my hands on it.

The safety info on here is priceless to me, thank you, thank you very much. I still have all my digits.

You all are a great lot. This is the best site on the internet. Have a good evening.

v/r

Song

Looks Like we need a country song titled:

"I Love This Site"

Well, since you asked......

If tomorrow all the saws were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my Homie and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be posting here today.
‘Cause the site still stands for knowledge,
and I hope it stays that way.

And I’m proud to be on the ArboristSite,
where I always know I'll learn
That it's never good to hatrack trees
and which are best to burn.

And I’d gladly log on,
next to you and search it day and night.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this place,
God bless the ArborstSite!

With apologies to Lee Greenwood.

rofl!!!

Very funny!

If you're going to write a country song for saws then the wife would leave you with the Poulon that won't run while she takes the Stihl 441.

Writing a song for this site, I think you nailed it. Thanks so much for your help. Project 440 rebuild, Echo 472 project, Poulon Micro XXV project, Stihl 024 project oh yeah I got it bad. Thanks to the experts on this site most will become runners some day.

Thanks A.S

Likewise, this site has been both enjoyable and informative. My knowledge and enthusiasm on the subject of chainsaws and their related endeavors has grown daily. The wealth of information, personality types, and occasional antagonistic comment adds a flavor to the site that is luring. All concerned should pat themselves on the back, especially those who share their hard acquired expertise and patience! The future of A.S seems robust!

I have to concur that this site is invaluable for information.

The depth of knowledge here is commendable.

But when I came here, I had one old Poulan....

so not sure if i can recommend the site...:hmm3grin2orange:

Its like sayin, hey, have you guys tried meth? You get SO MUCH DONE!!!!

Nice job on the song. I think that Mr. Greenwood would be proud.:biggrinbounce2:

Now I work in the woods with my husband. We still have my fathers Jred (he died at 89 in spring -05). He was active in the woods until he was about
87.

Sure sorry to hear about your father. We just don't know how much they really mean to us until they're gone.........I had no idea there were so many people into cutting wood just for fun.Even though I do this every day of my life,I still love my saws.Nothing gives me a bigger thrill than to break out my 088 with a fresh chain and start tearin' down some hardwoods...I love having a place to come hang out and share my stories and frustrations
