I have done some research, gone to the shops, now I'm almost ready to buy. I have a few questions about a couple of different classes of saws. First, my son is very interested in a CS520 Echo. Will the CS520 pull an 18 or 20 inch bar using good 3/8 chain? We cut almost entirely dead red and white oak. Next, for myself I would like to replace my little 33cc Poulan that I use for trimming, it vibrates something fierce. What do you all recommend for a trimming saw? I want conventional rear handle, good quality and something that will run a 14 inch bar and chain with some authority. For myself for a big saw, I think I have it down to a 357xp or a MS361. Opinions would be greatly appreciated. PS: Does anyone have any experience with the cs370 Echo or the 3800 Redmax?

For your son a 353 in place of the CS520. There is nothing wrong with the Echo but they are the same price, so go for the Husky for the added power.
357 or 361 tough choice but 361 wins here.

Yea, Pareto much what he said.

As for your own saw, Treat yourself, to the 361, It will do anything your little saw will do. Remember power and displacement are a mans best friend. Next to a dog and a really hot lonely woman.
