Anyone come across a good field reference book
showing a color shot of the leaf and a brief
description of the host Tree....?

Thanx Much..

Try the "National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Trees"...I love it, I got the insect one to. A little wierd to understand at first, but once you figure it out, you can fly through it and find whatever you are looking for. Has great closeups of leaves, acorns and bark. A good easy to understand description about each tree to. The only downside, is the Leaves are all in glossy color closeups at the front of the book, but under the pic of leaf it gives you the page number to skip ahead to, to get to the description. SO basically you gotta jump back and forth.

I also like The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Trees they come in Regional selections (Western, Eastern, and I think Southern).

Another one are the Taylor's Guides which have one on Trees and another on Shrubs. (Which if you have clients like ours that are constantly asking you what on earth they have in their gardens, comes in really handy).

Also check your state Forestry division to see if they have published anything for your specific state.
