Well, I know this is a tree fourum but its more business advice that I am seeking. I have had a side tree removal business that has been going great for the last two years. I purchased an older used but decent tractor backhoe for a farm place that i have just purchased. It needs a ton of demolition work done with it. Secondly I used it to offset some income this year. Third I have spent probably three thousand bucks in rental in the last couple of years on rental on one. Fourth I have had a couple of requests recently for backhoe work. I have had about four years of underground digging and repair experience with my day job. Our local farm economy has had our local backhoe services literally swamped. They are booked with large tile jobs up to two years out. They have had a heck of a time with getting to the smaller jobs that probably really aren't worth their time due to their growing overhead. My overhead is low with me being a one man show. I have alot of respect for these two guys and dont want to step on their toes. I was thinking about asking these two if they would be ok in throwing me some small jobs that they aren't really interested in. I don't know if it is out of line doing this? If It worked should I throw them a percentage? Or work under them somehow? I am just unsure if I should even do this? Any input would be great. Sorry Its not really directly tree related. But it sure is fun being able to clear out a whole tree line without having to fire up a chainsaw Ha Ha Thank You!

I was thinking about subbing that way they can somewhat take care of their customer. Or even reffering them I dont want to be cutting their throats at all. I just think that this will be a good supplement to my business. And I really enjoy digging!
