hi all, i'd like to introduce myself as browning i'm the newest member to your forum.
i've been looking here for a while but have now registered hopeing to learn and share ideas along the way.
i'm not an aborist or logger by any means i cut my own firewood, help neighbors remove trees help a cousin who is an aborist once in a while when he needs an extra guy.
anyway heres my starting thread.
i come home the other week to see this monster of a saw sitting downstairs my wife tells me the lady down the road brought to over to give to me her husband passed last spring, my first thought my god its huge sitting beside the 260 stihl.
its a husqvarna 288xp i'm guessing 88cc's of raw power must be behind it, one problem the pull cord is gone took the core off 4 allen screws found a small piece of cord left not attached to anything heavy looking cord i might add, now i see the odvious recoil pulley but how do i wind a new cord up and get proper tension i'm sure its easy but i dont want to screw things up on the big saw.
any help or explanation would but great as i might need more if it dosent run, my fingers are crossed
thanks all browning.
sorry i'm guessing this should have been in the equipment side
