Back in the mid -late 80's early in my commercial construction career I used an XL98 quite a few times on various demolition/some outside concrete/stone jobs.Great saw but I preferred the slightly larger Target model that a different employer had, which was based upon the Pioneer P60 series,a 98cc powerhead.
Do have a decent XL-98 that originally was owned by a small town Pennsylvania Fire Department in Beaver Valley, needs the rope fixed, and some minor carb tinkering, maybe a rebuild, has good strong spark still.Would like to find the kit box for it,plus a Target 14" Quickie with the kit box,but those usually are scarce by themselves plus tend to fetch a bit more than I'm willing to pay.But maybe someday I'll get lucky.
