I have a Makita DCS-6800i (same as Dolmar PS-6800i) with a badly scored cylinder. I can find replacement pistons, but not a good cylinder. It's a 68cc motor with a 49mm diameter piston. Does anyone know if I can switch the cylinder & piston out to a 50mm diameter? There are many 50mm sets available for Makita and Dolmar. Will one of these fit the bolt pattern and carb & muffler connections? Or does anyone have a used (but good) cylinder. Thanks.

I agree. We had a straight gassed MS260 at work, and the guy that was going to fix it was going to buy a new cylinder. I used a battery powered drill and made the cylinder look as good a new. I doubt it took me more than 15 minutes. Making the mandrel may have been longer. I used a 6 inch nail took off the head and slotted it with a hacksaw. Definitely worth a little of your time.
