A One Tree Load....pic

It's claimed this is all from but one tree making this load.

I once saw a three piece load on an off-highway truck with 14' bunks go through the yard at Gold River, about 1970 or so. Not a lot of those left anymore.

I believe it's from north Vancouver Island most likely around the Port McNeill area and the guy who posted it where I swiped it from noted it as a "one log load" on the photo.

There used to be a lot of big trees up here back in the day. Still a few if you know where to look.

I'm always thinking that power-saw people from the interior of the continent might enjoy pics of big west coast timber every now and then which is why I post the odd pic here, whenever I get ambitious. :msp_biggrin:

Guessin' these are 40's. Notice how little taper there is in the first three logs (the first only looks that big because of butt flare) and then the next two, but how quickly the diameter falls off after that. Conforms nicely to the current models:
