any body make a triple taper longer than 10"?

occasionally I'll run across the big banana wedges, unusually large, triple tapered, with little chevrons to help them bite a bit... I think they run at 15" I could be wrong though, have one I drag along for the really big stuff, I'll have to measure it tomorrow

They were the same dimensions; don't worry I compared. Sorry for the late reply, been busy the last few days. These are uh 10 inch if I remember right. The blue were stamped Double Taper just like the yellow. Northman I know what you man about the one model of double taper wedge. I was just looking at standard wedges. I almost bought one of those big 15 inchers but not in that big of stuff lol

Joe i think thats the only TT they make............maybe double taper makes a longer one, IDK.
or maybe they just don't sell bigger ones so they stopped makin um.............you know they ain't no big trees no more............or is it no one knows how to fall um no more?

a longer thicker one would be nice for the ocasional chunky one that don't wanna cooperate..........

any body try to resharpen old wedges? the ones that got the chain, not the broked ones. i tried it with an angle grinder but it just kinda melted. was tryin to get a short fat one really.........

Wood rasp or a horse-shoer's rasp seems to work well.

i just use a good one for the set and use the bitt ones for the follow up.[/QUOTE

Yup. But on those long winter evenings when you just can't stand to stay in the house one more minute re-edging wedges is a kinda peaceful and productive way to pass the time.

40 or 60 grit belt on belt sander. Gets a little furry but works if you don't lean on it enough to melt the plastic too much.

Madsens offers a Double Taper brand red and white that looks identical to the K&H. Other than the 15"er all the other Double Taper branded wedges are orange and yellow. I've used the 15"er quite a bit. It has such a nice long taper it really lifts well. The thick end is like an inch and a half if I remember correctly. I used to run all K&Hs until I started losing them in the snow. I've run all Madsen's blues since.

I use a straight file but is a pain in the arse.... not worth the time imho

I use an old belt sander, works well enough
