It was sitting under a tree, just outside of the yard. I don't think the guy even knew he had it. So, I bought it for a dollar. Do they make 4 point suspensions anymore? Looks like I can get a couple at Madsen's.

Here it is next to the one I got in 1980 "to keep the snow out of your neck" while thinning.

Should be able to. I just bought two of them three weeks ago for my Skullbuckets. A much more comfortable suspension.

The new one is missing the clip feature of the old orange one. Those clips were for headlamps. But, you could snap them and make a plink plink noise to annoy your coworkers in the crew rig....

I have noticed a vast improvement on headlamps. The style CDF had was very sturdy, nearly all metal, mostly steel like the battery box that held four maybe six D cells and yes folks, pre-energizer bunny batteries. I ran the wires under my shirt. I think a coalminer's carbide lamp would have been better and you could warm up your rats.

We had the 4 D cell metal or plastic box that you hooked on your pants and then the big light went up on the hat. The weight of the light tended to tip the hat forward and over one's eyes. I have one somewhere. Ancient technology.

Are you refering to Easter Seal headlamps? The technology changed 100 or so years ago to LEDs. Much more better!

I recently bought a NEBO LED flashlight for $20.00. It has white LEDs for regular use, green LEDs for following blood, UV LEDs for hunting for rocks and other shiny things at night, all the LEDs will flash for emergencies, it automatically flashes S-O-S, and it has a red laser. Gotta luv Communist China.

Went to town and it is now a ten dollar hat. The Madsen's people said the skull bucket suspensions would fit as they were out of the other. I forgot to go look for some metallic pink spray paint. There'll be a next time.

Nice find

Nice old style hard hat. Sadly this illegal on any commercial logging operation,It is fine for homeowner use. I had one and got my arse cited for having non compliant head safety device, cost me 900 saw chips:msp_angry:
