I bought an EZ for $40 and a EZ Auto for $30

For occasional use on a downed branch and for a small amount of firewood in the size you indicate, a good quality bowsaw would work fine. Stick to a known good brand like Bahco, Sandvik, Fiskars, etc. Once you run one for a bit and get your rhythm, they are quite good.
