I just got my guage and honestly it was just a toy to have. If you have ran saws enough you can tell when it's ready for a piston and rings and when things are getting out of shape. Ask youreself is the saw running as good as new? If you just got it new is it broke in? My 660 was easy to start without the decomp and after break in it's hell on the shoulder with it pushed in as the compression has built up now.
