I use square but I don't charge the extra 3% even though I should. Then again, making sure I get paid is its own reward. Anyone else put a little extra on for the plastic use?
It would be great to be able to get extra for taking a cc payment but its technically illegal, not that Im worried about prosecution, just like to be as professional as possible. If I know the customer will be paying by credit card before hand, I bid it out as I normally would and then tack on whatever percentage I would get hit with. But if I've already given the price, I just bite the bullet.

It may be technically illegal but everyone does it including myself. Gas stations around here even have the price difference on billboards.

I'm in NY. It is still illegal here despite they 2013 ruling.

I don't know if it is illegal in Texas or not but I do know AMEX along with discover discourage it and AMEX has been known to pull merchant accounts because of it. If anybody tried to charge me more for using my card I would tell them to eat a big fat bowl of sh!t.
