Does anyone currently use the Accu-Fell..

Designed endorsed by Arborists. Used for sighting. felling, rolling and breaking stump cuts.

Do not know the cost, just wondered if is a truly useful tool.

Similar to cant dog.or log lift but with flat edge.

I see now there is one on page 48 Sherrill Catalog number H and I.

AccuFell is probably brand name. Seems as if it would be handy when breaking stump cuts...perhaps a little easier then using wedges...

That is better known as a felling bar.
Works very well on small to medium sized trees .
I have one and use it often.

They might have their service duty (smaller logs)and range, but i always wanted my 'real' cant hook or prybar, when i tried to use these felling bars.

When i tried the fall sighting deal of placing the device in the face as per propaganda, i found it to fall far short of having 2 'gunning stix' of equal length to sight with.

i think my Sandvik(?) felling bar got sold at a garage sale, maybe it was a cheap model or i used it on stuff outta it's capacity and utility, but i never found happiness with one!

i guess i can see were it would work for smaller trees, but i never really liked felling bars when i tried to use them. i think any kind of equal length gunning sticks are better at sighting than the technique of placing the device in the face cut per propaganda i've seen and tried to follow.

i had a model (Sandvik{?}) with a claw/hook option for use as a small cant hook. A 'real' cant hook had spoiled me, as well as a 'real' prybar, though i did always like how the 'toe' of the prybar function was small enough to fit in a kerf. Maybe it was a cheap one or had it's weight class it shined in, i didn't find a lot of use for it.

i thought that the best innovation that it had to offer was the flattened 'toe' on the pry end for fitting into the kerf, would like a 4' bar with that design. Closest i came was a $70 prybar called the grizzly, but it waas so good it walked off, and so pricey, the quit carrying them 'round dees here parts.

I have one -the one from sherill, but looks just like the accu-fell. I like it. I use it quite a bit mainly for turning logs, and busting stumps loose. I have used it for gunning, but I find that using the sights on my saw are just as good. It will also not replace a wedge. From looking at the pictures i thought I would be able to jack a tree right over, ---not. I think it is worth the $50 to use as a pry bar and log roller/mover.

If your looking for an Accu-Fell felling lever send me a reply. At one time I sold them to most distributors in the USA. Cheap look-alike imports took over the market. However, if your and old customer you know what I'am talking about. I still have some available.

I have the AF and use it on now and then. Most of the time I wish it was a little longer and the flat end not as thick but it has helped move a few logs as well as popping the stump off. Crow bar would work as well on the stumps. Have not tried the gunning feature.
