Has anyone added a decompression valve to an old saw. My Jred can really be a bear to pull over, break the rope fairly often. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience adding the valve to an existing barrel?

Rob,
Steve here... Put a decompression valve in my 2100 homelite. Used a valve from an 066. Ken put a similar valve in a cylinder he just finished up for the same saw. That valve came out of a Husky.
Works great!!!

Rob,
I put the valve in the side, where the original decomp valve was. Just tapped it out to take the 066 release. The factory decomp valve on the old Homey's is a three Martini lunch
