Well, KCR is back for more advice! Have log length green to be delivered soon after wiping out a bunch of ash and maple in the yard. Wife wonders when i will stop. My reply is "time for a new saw" Any excuse ,you know. Enough bull**** , the question is , whats a good saw to choose that will make quick work of 10 to 20 inch logs that i will have to cut that wont kill me weight wise and that is in the 5 to 6 hundred range ? thanks from R I . ;) ;)

I'll second that, MS361. Selling my 026 to offset the cost of the 361 is one move I'm glad I made.

Ms361

If you're going with the MS361 go for the MS361C that has the OS braking system. You'll be less likely to slice and dice yourself if and when it kicks back on you. If I were you I'd check and see if Bailey's (1-800-322-4539)didn't have a Dolmar 7900 and get that with the 20" bar and chain. More power than you'd ever need but one sweet saw right out of the box. Get yourself a pair of chaps or portective saw pants, these saws can take a bite out of you in the blink of an eye. You might consider a Husky 346XP power ported by DozerDan (570-658-6232) with an 18" bar it would eat most anything in the 10"-20" range, it doesn't weigh much (10.6lbs) and it's fun to run. Glens might tell you the Husky 346XP weighs more (12.7+ lbs) with bar chain and a full tanks of oil and gas but then he's a stickler for weights and measures. I can tell you the ported 346XP's are fun. Why else would I have gotten 3 of them?
