When you adjust the inlet lever do you do it with the lever still attached to the carb? Or, off the carb?

Do you just bend the lever or remove a spring coil?

Thanks

Tom

I do it on the carb with the spring installed.

And the position of the free end of the lever depends upon which carb you are adjusting. On the 026, its to be flush or level with top of the carb. On some others, its slightly below that level. Check the book on yours to be sure.

Thanks. I have the tools to measure the lever height, I am wondering about techniques people use. I wondered about damaging the inlet needle by holding it down and using a needle nose pliers to adjust the lever? Or, if you just kept taking it off and bending and putting it back on til it was right?
