I was just wondering if anybody has tried the Golf pistons that one guy has on eBay. He has very wide selection even for the newest models.

I was gonna buy one for my H359.

Would you recommend it?

When I rebuild mine or others I always use the factory pistons and rings. I just don't trust or care for aftermaket pistons and rings.. I always say there is a good reason why they are so much more cheaper then a factory replacement piston and rings....I would use a cheapy piston and rings if I was going to dump it off fast.. Like on ebay..There are more suckers on ebay then in a candy store..lol...I would frimly say them aftermarkerts will not hold up in time like the factory ones will remember the factory ones are mechanical engineered for that saw ...I just can't bring myself to run a cheapy piston and rings on my saws or the ones I fix for ppl...If you try one it could wreck your jug if something goes wrong with that cheapy piston not saying it will but you never know .. Then you would have to replace the jug and piston ..Think about that...That would cost alot more then buying the factory piston and rings in the first place...
.
If want a good piston, ring and gaskets ..Go to Bailey's they sell fairly cheap for factory parts for Husky's..

Here the link http://www.baileys-online.com/

Give them a call.. I ordered my Husky 350 a new piston, jug and gaskets form them..For less then I got quoted from a major dealer and online places..Here there number 1-800-322-4539..

I forgot to say this....I work part time on saws and smallengines for along time time now .. Never take a short cut .. Sooner or later it will come back and bite you in the a##. That is a fact...It happened to me a few times in the past...

I have bought one, and also bought GB. The BG is a lot closer to the factory Mahle. The golf you can tell is a cheap knockoff. I have put about 5 hours on the 55 I put the GB piston in. I haven't ran the one with the Golf yet, but for 30 bucks I will try it.

The Golf pistons are the same Chinese supply that the other new supplier that is shipping through Germany. If you buy these, make sure you change the clips to OEM. The Chinese supplied clips with the wavy end will fail...

And, measure them carefully, check the ring gap IN THE BORE etc... take no chances... Sometimes OEM is a better choice, particularly if it's a working saw, no matter if they are more expensive.

golf pistons

i bought one off ebay. i came friday and i installed it in my jonsered 630. it was a two ring piston and it looked very nicely machined. i did how ever use the original piston clips. the piston has a dark grey coating of some kind on it.the saw started on the third pull and it seems to run great. i took it out today and cut firewood for about an hour to check it out. im very happy so far with the saw.

Thanks a lot for opinions, if anybody get some more feedback let me know. But I think I am gonna go with that.

Thanks once again.
